Cultural cooperation
Cooperation in the field of culture between Azerbaijan and Korea is developing with an upward trend. In this context, promotion of Azerbaijan's rich culture, traditions, art, music, cuisine, as well as tourism potential in Korea, advancement of cultural exchange and intercultural dialogue, and intensification of people-to-people contacts with the local population are of particular importance.
Numerous Azerbaijan cultural events are regularly organized in Korea, as well as our country participates with the national stand in various exhibitions held in Korea. In this regard, in addition to the relevant state agencies of the Republic of Korea, intense cooperation exists with Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE), Korean Culture Association (KCA), Korea Foundation (KF), Asian Culture Center (ACC) and World Masters Committee.
There are cooperative relations between Azerbaijan National Library and National Library of Korea, as well as the Presidential Library of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Library of National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Korea. At the same time, Azerbaijani Corner functions at Seoul National University (SNU) Library.
Twinned or friendly cities and districts cooperation exists between Shusha and Andong, Baku's Garadagh district and Seoul's Yongsan district, Gabala and Gyeongju.
In 2011, the monument of Azerbaijani sculptor Omar Eldarov entitled "Divided nation" was erected in Korea's "Gaehwa" Park.
